Bright, spacious, and elegantly furnished, this beautiful two bedroom apartment boasts a superb location in one of Madrid’s most historic neighbourhoods. The property is right in heart of the Barrio de Las Letras, so-called due to this district’s strong cultural and literary history. The apartment is actually next to thevery building where Quevedo wrote many of his masterpieces. The surrounding area is a blend of tranquil lanes and busier pedestrianized streets, often filled with tourists and locals alike enjoying a paseo around this atmospheric barrio. The apartment is ideally situated for guests to enjoy many of Madrid’s top sights and attractions, including the “Big Three” art museums found on the nearby Paseo del Prado, the buzzing Plaza de Santa Ana, and the Puerta del Sol, the very heart and soul of the city. There is an abundance of great restaurants, cafes and tabernas in the surrounding area and this is one of the best places in Madrid to enjoy an evening tapeo in establishments frequented by writers and artists both past and present. The apartment itself manages to strike the perfect balance between classic and contemporary. Fully refurbished but retaining many of the property’s original features, it offers guests all the comforts of a modern home in a historical setting. The open-plan living and dining room has exposed brick walls and large windows that look out onto the street below. It has been tastefully furnished with high quality pieces, and clever use of mirrors only serves to accentuate the feeling of light and space. In keeping with the open-plan theme, the kitchen is only partially separated from the living area and comes fully equipped with everything guests may need during their stay. The beautiful master bedroom has plenty of space, a large dressing area and designer en-suite bathroom. Exposed brick walls and quality furnishings are in keeping with the rest of the apartment and give the room its discrete and stylish feel. The second bedroom is smaller but still comfortable, and has built-in wardrobe space and use of the second bathroom. Comfortable and stylish and with a fantastic location in one of one Madrid’s most historic neighbourhoods, this is a wonderful option for those looking for a central base during their time in the city. Please Note: The apartment is located in an area of Madrid with traffic restrictions and is only open to residents, public transport and our airport transfer service.
