Carretas 301 is one of eight luxury, two-bedroom apartments located just off of the Puerta del Sol, Madrid's emblematic centre and a thriving hub. This famous square is where the clock hangs that rings in the New Year in Spain, prompting Spaniards to eat a grape for each of the twelve chimes. Many of the city's most popular attractions are nearby, including Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, the Cathedral and Madrid's three renowned art museums: the Prado, the Reina Sofia and the Thyssen-Bornemisza. Adjacent to the square is the Preciados Shopping District, which includes several buildings of an "El Corte Inglés" department store. Crowded with tourists and locals by day, the area is still lively in the evenings as there are many restaurants, cafés and bars nearby. Just a short distance away is the Plaza de Santa Ana, where there are many terraces for outdoor dining. As the geographic centre of the city, the Puerta del Sol has excellent metro and bus communications, and the Atocha train station is a 15-minute walk or just three metro stops away. Each of the apartments in the building features professional decoration, high quality furnishings, and original artwork and elements of design. There are marble floors throughout the apartment which contrast nicely with bold blue paintwork. Both bedrooms are located in the interior of the building and are very quiet. The second bedroom has a single bed and ample wardrobe space. Please note that whilst the building has an elevator, there is a small staircase before you reach the lobby. Along the corridor, there are two bedrooms (with fitted wardrobes): 1 double bedroom (queen-sized bed 1.60m x 1.90m) and 1 single bedroom (0.90m x 1.90m). There is a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator / freezer, oven, 4-ring ceramic hob (stove), washing machine and a breakfast bar with two stools. There is an additional half bathroom. There is marble flooring throughout the apartment, except for the bathroom and kitchen, which are tiled.
