Found within a timeless neighborhood that the locals know as Madrid de los Austrias, this delightful, 1-bedroom, second-floor apartment will charm and provide comfort for up to four guests. If your travelling entourage comprises a small group or family, this is an ideal base from which to explore the capital from its core. Against what is undoubtedly one of the most desirable and inspirational residential backdrops of the Spanish capital (partly thanks to its prime positioning within the city's historic centre), you will instantly discover many of Madrid's popular hotspots: the Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace are just some of the names on the hits list, and all are within walking distance of this residence. In fact, the 19th-century sculpture of the Ángel Caído del Retiro (Fallen Angel of Retiro) set on the rooftop of a nearby residential building is a popular attraction among locals and visitors alike, and can be enjoyed by residents of this apartment. Meanwhile, a host of metro, bus, and taxi connections can be easily located without having to move far beyond your elected cocoon of comfort, leaving the rest of the town easily accesible and free for you to paint red. Calle Mayor VIII – as its nomenclature suggests – is one of several Spain Select offerings within this area, and indeed within this very building. Much like the surrounding neighborhood, it offers a seamless fusion of the contemporary and the traditional, typified by its professionally administered aesthetic and decorative composition. Wooden floors line the path from the entrance to the main living space, which lies straight ahead of you from this particular standpoint. You will notice an abundance of natural light streaming through the windows of the combined, open-plan living/dining area. This room has been furnished with a circular dining table and for vintage-style chairs just next to one of the room's two double-doored French balconies. Beside the dining table you will find an inviting wooden armchair dressed with custom upholstery. At the extreme end of the room is the lounge, featuring a large sofa that will comfortably host the majority of the home's inhabitants and can also morph into a bed for a temporary guest if and when needed. Set slightly in front of this is a pair of delightful, timber-topped coffee tables. The space is further enhanced by some considered touches from our interior designers, such as the retro-style mirror on the wall and standing lamp by the sofa. From this area, there is direct access via a doorway to the contemporary kitchen, which has been equipped with a range of modern, electro-domestic appliances. In the apartment's only bedroom, there is a large double bed, ample built-in storage and small nook where you'll find yet another more private French balcony, with windows opening out onto the street. The bathroom is accessed from the kitchen and features a walk-in shower and tiled floors as part of its more modern aesthetic. This is a home where intimacy, privacy and comfort have all been prioritized for your enjoyment.

Accommodation and Facilities

Surface Area: 40 m². Second floor. The living / dining room is furnished with a large sofa-bed (1.40m x 1.90m), three-seater, single armchair, two coffee tables and furniture with plasma TV and lamp. The dining room has a table for four people. The kitchen is accessed via the living room and fully equipped. The bedroom has a bed (1,60m x 2,00m), two floor lamps, an elegant wood and wicker chair and a built-in closet. The bathroom has a shower and a small wooden bench. The entire home I lined with an elegant wooden floor except the kitchen and bathroom, which are tiled.

Booking Conditions

We ask our clients to pay a refundable security deposit of € 150 upon arrival to the apartment. We will refund the deposit within seven days of your departure provided the apartment has not suffered any damage.
