Cocooned within the time-resistant neighborhood that the locals know as *Madrid de los Austrias*, this delightful, 2-bedroom, second-floor apartment will both charm and provide comfort for up to six guests, making it perfect for a small group or family looking to explore the capital from its core. This is one of the most desirable residential backdrops of the Spanish capital, partly thanks to its prime positioning within the city's historic centre. Many of Madrid's best known points of interest – including the Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace to name a few – are all within walking distance of the residence. In fact, the 19th-century sculpture of the Ángel Caído del Retiro (Fallen Angel of Retiro) set on the rooftop of a nearby residential building is a popular attraction among locals and visitors alike, and can be enjoyed by residents of this apartment. Meanwhile, several metro, bus, and taxi connections can be easily located without having to move outside of your zone of comfort, making the rest of this famous city your oyster. When you enter Calle Mayor VI and shuffle across the shiny, wood floors of the entrance hall, a glance to the right will reveal a slice of the modern kitchen, which comes complete with all of the electro-domestic appliances you'd expect, and a few more to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. To the left is another passage where the bedrooms and bathrooms are found. The master bedroom features a queen-sized double bed with a custom headboard and, like much of the home, has a very inviting, Bohemian air to it thanks to carefully-selected decor. Inhabitants of this chamber can be gently coaxed awake by the natural sunlight pouring in through the private balcony, which is slightly covered to offer some shelter in the event of poor weather; there is also plenty of built-in wardrobe and storage space. Between this bedroom and the second is the residence's bathroom, which features a contemporary, walk-in shower and further storage. The second bedroom would be perfect for guests or children and also features its own private balconette. The transition from one wing of the flat to the other  reveals just how roomy the space really is. Another long passage leads you past the kitchen to the open-plan living room and dining room where you will find aesthetic elegance in abundance. This part of the house is also swimming in light and features a circular dining table for four with vintage-style chairs and a contemporary chandelier floating above it and providing added ambiance. The large living room sofa can also double up as a bed for additional guests if needed. At the street-facing end of the space sits a beautiful designer armchair and a desk that can also be used for taking care of important tasks. Finally, beyond that is another French balconette where you can survey the local scenes as they unfold in the streets below. This is a wonderful abode in which to share and create some magical memories in Madrid.

Accommodation and Facilities

Surface Area: 60 m². Second floor. Entrance leads to a hall with a built-in closet. The living / dining area is furnished with a comfortable sofa-bed (1.40m x 1.90m) 3-seater, an armchair, two coffee tables and a plasma TV. The dining room has a table for four people. The kitchen is fully equipped and open to the hallway. The master bedroom has a double bed (1.50m x 2.00m), two bedside tables, a lamp and a wardrobe. The second bedroom is fitted with a trundle bed (0.90m x 1.80m higher and lower bed of 0.80m x 1.80m). The bathroom has a walk-in shower and sink unit featuring additional storage. There is wood flooring throughout the apartment except bathroom and kitchen, which are tiled.

Booking Conditions

We ask our clients to pay a refundable security deposit of € 200 upon arrival to the apartment. We will refund the deposit within seven days of your departure provided the apartment has not suffered any damage.
