One of the most impressive properties in the Spain Select villa collection, this breathtaking house is a converted palace, and a truly luxurious option for a large group of friends or family looking for the very best accommodation in Asturias. Set in expansive grounds, which include a heated indoor pool-house and private chapel, the house itself is nearly 1000 square metres in size and split over three spacious floors.
The ground floor has been designed to comfortably accommodate a large group of guests. Everything from the wide entrance hall with its elegant fireplace to the extremely spacious sitting area and stylish kitchen has been meticulously planned and built in a way that favours open-plan living. The living room features two separate sitting areas, and the fully-equipped kitchen offers guests a more relaxed eating area as an alternative to the more formal and very luxurious dining room. Every room on the ground floor opens out to the expansive grounds that surround the house, and the floor-to-ceiling windows fill the property with light. Five of the bedrooms are situated on the first floor, each one furnished to the very highest standard and with an en-suite bathroom. The impressive master bedroom also boasts its own personal sitting area looking out to the lovely gardens below. Climb the stairs to the top floor, and you will find an impressive chill-out space, complete with spacious living area, home entertainment system with cinema screen, and another bedroom that sleeps four. There is also a laundry and service area, with ironing facilities, a washer and dryer, and the final en-suite bedroom, which was originally used as servantīs quarters.
The house is located just five minutes from the charming market town of Villaviciosa, which with only 14,000 inhabitants and its close proximity to the sea is a wonderful base from which to explore the lush green province of Asturias, one of Spainīs hidden gems. The town itself offers visitors a true taste of Asturian life, with its atmospheric old town, Romanesque churches and a number of stunning local beaches just a short drive away. The sweeping Playa de Rodiles, one of the best beaches in the province is just a 15 minute drive away. The countryside surrounding Villaviciosa is famous for its many apple orchards, and the local sidra (cider) produced here is famous throughout Spain for its distinctive fresh taste. Almost impossibly grand and offering a level of luxury that is hard to beat, this stunning converted palace is the perfect option for a large group of friends or family looking to enjoy an extra special holiday.
