GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Carretas 101 is one of eight prime location, luxury two bedroom apartments, available exclusively from Spain Select. Situated just off the Puerta del Sol, the Carretas apartments offer Madrid’s most important attractions within walking distance. In less than five minutes walk is the city’s famous Plaza Mayor, the centrepiece of what is known as Austrian Madrid. A little beyond, is the Royal Palace and the Cathedral. At 10 to 15 minutes walk in the other direction is the train station of Atocha, and Madrid’s three renowned art museums: the Prado, the Reina Sofia and the Thyssen-Bornemisza. The Puerta del Sol is one of the most well known and busiest places in Madrid. The square contains a famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year. Adjacent to it, is an extensive shopping district which includes an “El Corte Inglés” department store. The area remains lively in the evenings as nearby there are many restaurants, cafés and bars. Within a short distance is the Plaza de Santa Ana, where there are many terraces for dining al fresco. As the geographic centre of the city, and the country, the Puerta del Sol has excellent communications. Spain Select Carretas is a building that has been completely reconstructed in its interior, while maintaining its original façade from the nineteenth century. Each apartment has been professionally decorated and fitted with high quality furnishings, original artwork and original design pieces such as the lamps. Carretas I is a bright two bedroom apartment whose living room has two balconied windows overlooking the street below. It has marble floors throughout, the soft tones of which contrast to good effect with bold blue paintwork and decorative elements. The two bedrooms are situated in the interior of the building and very quiet. The second bedroom has a single bed and good wardrobe space. The rental price shown on the website applies for up to 2 people. For up to 3 people there is an additional charge of € 25 /day.
ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES
Surface area: 70 m2. First floor. The entrance hall leads into a large living / dining area with two balconies facing out the street. It is furnished with one 3-seater sofa, two armchairs, a wooden coffee table, a shelving with LCD TV, DVD and a wooden dining table for four. Along the corridor, there are two bedrooms (with fitted wardrobes): 1 double (queen-sized bed 1.60m x 1.90m) and 1 single (0.90m x 1.90m). There is a bathroom with walk-in shower. The kitchen is equipped with fridge freezer, oven, 4-ring ceramic hob, waschine machine and a breakfast bar with two stools. There is an additional toilet (WC). There is marble flooring throughout except for the bathroom and kitchen, which are tiled.


Facilities include: Satellite TV, DVD, Wireless Internet Connection, Central Heating, Air Conditioning Units, and Washing Machine.
