GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Located in the pretty village of Pinos del Valle, Los Espada contains a wealth of interesting and original architectural features. The house is split over three levels and provides spacious accommodation for up to 12 guests. The main entrance hall opens into a wonderful galleried interior courtyard featuring an Arabic fountain as the focal point. The covered walkways lead to stylishly decorated rooms; a combination of local and ethnic artefacts and furnishings blend perfectly in this typically Moorish house. The property also features an open Mirador on the top floor, a three sided covered gallery ideal for relaxing. To the rear of the property is an attractive walled courtyard containing an ionised swimming pool. A terraced area with teak garden furniture is an ideal spot for barbequing and “al fresco” dining; a variety of shrubs and a pretty fountain add to the tranquil ambience. The village contains a good local supermarket as well as few little bars. Beznar Lake is nearby and is a great spot for a picnic. Granada is approximately a 40 minute drive away and a visit to the historic city is highly recommended. A number of activities can be organised locally, including horse riding, tennis and cycling.

ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES

Two floors. Ground floor: entrance leads into a Moorish courtyard dominated by a fountain and water channel carved into inlaid marble floors. There is a large modern kitchen with granite work surfaces and is equipped with fridge freezer, 4-ring gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, a table for 4 and a walk-in larder. There is a separate laundry room. There is a large living room furnished with one 3-seater sofa, two armchairs, a coffee table and a dining table for 10. The living room and kitchen have French doors that open out onto an uncovered patio with outdoor furniture and pool area. There is a second dining table for 6, shelving, telephone/fax in the library room. There is one double bedroom (1.35m x 1.90m) with en suite walk-in shower and access to the courtyard. There is also a WC. First Floor: there is a smaller living room with beamed ceilings, an open fireplace, one 3-seater sofa, two 2-seater sofas, four armchairs, a Satellite TV and VCR. It has two balconies facing out towards the patio. There are five large bedrooms: 3 doubles en suite (2 with bath and 1 with shower) and 2 twins that are interconnected and share a shower room. All bedrooms are accessed from the gallery that wraps around the courtyard (except for the master that is accessed via a staircase at the back of the house.) Second floor: there is an open-sided mirador containing a pinball table and seating area with view of the village and countryside. Grounds: there is walled patio with a swimming pool, an ornamental fountain, mature trees and shrubs and several teak tables and chairs for outside eating.
